Carl Bush

Carl Bush went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at age 82. He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Lois Bush; teenage brother, Bob Bush. Carl is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth Bush; children Linda Peterson, Julie (Dan) VanLaar, Craig Bush; grandchildren David (Cassie) Peterson, Troy (Chelsea) Peterson, Ross Peterson, Ellie (Dary) DeWalt, Adam VanLaar; siblings Gene (Lilarae) Bush and Mary VanderKolk (Ivan, deceased).

Carl was a born again Christian and a faithful member of New Life Baptist Fellowship. He was a loving and loyal husband, father, and grandpa. He was known as “Butch” to friends and family. He was a Godwin High School graduate, worked as a mechanic at his dad's service station, and worked at Velting Contractors for 40+ years where he retired. He was loved and respected by many but especially by his wife Ruth, kids, and grandkids. He will be missed more than words can say until we are reunited again in heaven.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2022 at New Life Baptist Fellowship, 6252 Burlingame Ave. SW, Byron Center, MI 49315, with visitation from 1-2 p.m. prior to service. Interment will be at Grandville Cemetery. In honor of Carl, and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made directly to the family and will be used for the purchase of a headstone.
