Carl D. Root

ROOT Carl D. Root, age 79, of Wyoming, went to be with his Lord, suddenly, Thursday, December 6, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elton and Mary Ellen Root and his brother, Ronald Root. Carl will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Wanda Root (Ladd); his daughter, Jackie (Andrew Cody) Williams; his sister, Marilyn (Richard) Olcott; brother, Robert Root; sister-in-law, Virginia L. Miller; his nieces and nephews; his beloved "granddogs," Sparky and Sophie. Carl loved camping, traveling and spending his winters in the South during retirement. Carl worked many years as a Diesel Mechanic; retiring from Spartan Stores in 1996 and working in retirement for Plummer's Septic in Wyoming. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Sunday, December 9, at Cook Funeral Home in Grandville, 4235 Prairie St. SW (west building). Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday at Byron Center Bible Church, 8855 Byron Center Ave. with visitation prior to the service beginning at 10AM. Dr. Rich McCarrell and Rev. Ken McGee will be officiating. Interment will be at Rest Lawn Cemetery. In honor of Carl, contributions may be made to Byron Center Bible Church - Building Fund.
