Carlene Kay Parker

Carlene Kay Parker, age 77, went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, July 31, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, James K. Parker; parents Fred and Wilma Bailey; son, Kenneth J. Parker; and sister, Barbara Fleischmann. She is survived by her children Brenda Parker and Christine (Tim) Vande Guchte; grandchildren Parker Evans, Macy (Josh) Dunn, Eden (Kyle) Pikaart, Trenton Vande Guchte, Lynae Vande Guchte (fiancé Stephen Langerak), and Elyse Vande Guchte; great-granddaughters Braelyn and Brinley Pikaart; sister, Marilyn (Don) Harju; brother, Bruce (Rita) Bailey; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Carlene was a proud mom and grandmommy. She was a wonderful homemaker, whether that was at home, up north at the cabin, their motorhome, or their trailer in Florida. Carlene loved looking for shells and shark teeth on the beach and could spend all day doing so. She was a talented artist; she completed many beautiful painted ceramic projects and made countless outfits, pajamas, and dresses on her sewing machine. She could finish even the toughest of puzzles. Carlene loved to talk to others and share stories about her life. She loved her family, friends (and her Shih Tzu, Zuzu) very much. She was a dedicated and faithful prayer warrior and was very strong in her faith. Carlene experienced many hardships in her life. She had several health challenges that she faced with inspiring strength. She fought hard and now she rests. Carlene was so loved and will be greatly missed by many.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, August 17, 2025 at Jenison Bible Church (6360 14th Ave., Hudsonville, MI 49426.) In lieu of flowers, please consider using those funds to do something special with your family. In memory of Carlene, donations may be made to Brenda in support of our cherished friend Sandra in Uganda, whose heartfelt prayers have uplifted our family and whose tireless care provides hope and love to many orphans.
