Cecelia Babinec, age 14, went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, December 22, 2021. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Nancy Babinec; grandfather, Kelby Heinisch. She is survived by her parents Benjamin and Nicole Babinec; brothers Niko and Crew Babinec; grandparents Mark Babinec and Linda and Mark Hodges; aunts and uncles Anna (Mark) Wassa, Lindsey Franz, Tisha (Frank) D’Ambrosio, Rebecca (Kyle) Black, Ryan (Justin) Flood, Zachary (Lacey) Hodges, Zeb Hodges; loving godparents Emily and Mike McAlpine; extraordinary sponsors Kerri and Pauly; along with honorary aunties and uncles Jaimee and Joe, Cara and Paul, Kate and Brian, and Blake and Lauren; many, many cousins and so many friends; and last but not least, her loving and caring nurses.
Cecelia was born December 4, 2007. Cecelia was not given the easy road here on earth but instead fought a very long medical journey due to her primary diagnosis of Aicardi Syndrome. Many may have only seen what she couldn’t do but those who were lucky knew she was so much more than her diagnosis. She loved to vacation with her family, watch her brothers on the ice or in the field, listen to music, play the piano, and she was always up to watch Cinderella. Her favorite color was purple, but she also loved wearing her Byron Bulldogs colors. She spoke with her eyes and would grind her teeth when she wanted something different. She was the closest thing to heaven on earth and an inspiration to all.
