Constance Josephine Groening

GROENING - Mrs. Constance Josephine Conard Groening, a very much loved and now greatly missed mother, grandma and great grandma, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2007 at the age of 84. Constance was born May 25, 1922 to Renn and Frances Marshall Conard and was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Carl Groening. She was a Grand Rapids Catholic Central High graduate, a member of the Saint Francis Altar Society as well as a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.

Surviving are her children, Carl E. and Mary Kay Groening, Paula Mairs Ian and Molly, Christine and John Wiseman John Jr. and Joe, Ronald Groening RonaldJoseph, and Charlyann, Richard and Susan Groening Matthew, Zachary, and Katie, and Timothy Groening; four great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Oppeneer, and Betty Bloch; and nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Monday, 11 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 2700 Baldwin, Jenison, with Rev. Ronald D. Hutchinson presiding. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may meet Constance’s family Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home, Jenison Chapel, 1889 Baldwin, Jenison. A vigil service will be held Sunday, 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Those unable to attend the visitation or funeral Mass may sign the family’s Memory Book at www.cookfuneralservices.com.
