He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Carol Stoel (Snoeyink); children Kim (Scott) Donze, Ken Stoel, Kathy (Bob) Tanner, Kurt (Melissa) Stoel; grandchildren Kendra (Jamison) Van Eck, Kyleigh (Ryan) Elenbaas, Lexi (Cole) Miller, Bryce Helder, Tyce (Natalie) Tanner, Chelsea Tanner, Kaylah Tanner, Austin Stoel, Sienna (Nathan) Becker; nine great-grandchildren, who he called his “little vitamins”; brothers and sisters-in-law; several nieces, nephews, and friends. He will also be missed by his special golfing buddies, Rich Kitchen, Marvin Klunder, Bob MacDonald, and all his friends at Maple Hill Golf.
The family thanks Dr. Mark Campbell, Tara, and the rest of the staff at Lemmen-Holton Cancer Pavilion, for their years of caring for Curt, and Faith Hospice for their compassionate care.
Curt was a faithful member of First Reformed Church in Grandville his entire life. He was outgoing, full of life, and loved visiting others. He treated his friends like they were family, and in his family, there was no such thing as an “in-law.” Second to his family was his love for golf, and many memories were made on the golf courses with friends and family. He also enjoyed waxing his vehicles, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and taking trips with Carol.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday, November 25, 2022 at Cook Funeral Home (West building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, Michigan. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2022 at First Reformed Church of Grandville, 3060 Wilson Ave. SW, Grandville, MI 49418, with visitation from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to service. In lieu of flowers and in memory of Curtis, contributions may be made to First Reformed Church Scholarship Fund or Faith Hospice.
