Deborah Lynn Cortez

Deborah Lynn Cortez, age 64, went to be with her Lord Tuesday, September 26, 2023. Deb will be remembered by her mother, Carol Shepard; children Kristi Lee (Eric), Kevin Cortez (Jennifer), Kyle Cortez, Kaleigh Cortez, Kegen Cortez; grandchildren Chloe, Kobie, Kinsley, Cambree, and Haisley; siblings Jeff Shepard and John Shepard; loving pups Kobalt and Kasper; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Shepard, and husband, Michael Cortez.

Deb was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, and cousin. She loved to camp with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cruising, sharing memories, gardening, butterflies, and all things purple. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in accounting from Davenport University and was also on the dean's list on multiple occasions. Deb volunteered doing taxes for those in need. Deb was an outgoing social butterfly who loved to chat and take funny pictures. She will be remembered for her numerous smiles, laughs she shared with her friends and family, and her determination to help others.
