Deborah Ann Rodriguez

Deborah Ann Rodriguez (Dewey), age 72, of Grand Rapids, MI went to be with Jesus on Thursday, June 11, 2020. She is now able to breathe fully and be free. Deborah was preceded in death by her parents George Dewey and Helen Dewey, and her siblings Susan, Elizabeth, and Timothy Dewey.

She will be missed by Manuel “Rod,” her husband of 44 years; daughters Jennifer (Jeff) Sellon, Jodi Rodriguez, Julie Rodriguez, and Jillian Rodriguez; son, Joseph Rodriguez; grandchildren Marissa Sellon, Jalen Rodriguez, Joshua Kortz, Javari Rodriguez, and Vyncent Rodriguez; siblings Mike (Val) Dewey, Patti Dewey, Steve (Susan) Dewey, Katie (Bob) Sprich; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Debbie was the life of the party with a loud, contagious laugh. She loved music like Elton John, Michael Bublé, Adele, and Lukas Graham, to name a few. TV shows like “The Voice,” “Dr. Phil,” and especially true crime shows made her happy. She enjoyed a really good cup of coffee, and loved flowers, plants, and feeding and watching the animals in her backyard. Her favorites included Wally the woodchuck, Baby the squirrel, and Tim the cardinal. Debbie had a good, kind heart and loved helping others. Above all, she loved being a mom to her five kids and a grandma. She was smart and funny and will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 10, 2020 at the Cook Memorial Chapel, 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI with a time to visit with the family one hour prior to services. In honor of Deborah and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org).
