I have just come across a posting about Delores. My thoughts and prayers are with you "Bert". You were a lovely part of my life a very long time ago but I still think of you often. Wishing you loving memories to forever hold in your heart.

 Like the Robins you observed and took care of during your last sprind, you flied away to find peace. From Basque Country in Spain, this family which is also yours, feels sad, but also happy for having shared such great memories with you. All our Love to you, and all our american family.

Words cannot express the sadness I feel in the loss of my dear friend Delores. I am so glad she is no longer in pain. We had so many good times and trips to Chicago and Cincy. She will always be in my heart which I was able to tell her Thursday. My prayers and hugs go out to Michelle Bobbi Scott Mandy and their families and her sister Char. She touched many lives and will be dearly missed.

I wanted to express my heartfelt condolences to all of Delores's family. For right now there's no detour around grief, no shortcut through mourning. However, 2 Cor.4:7 says that God can give us, "... power beyond what is normal ", to go from one day to the next. This does not mean that we no longer cry or that we forget, but it means we recover. We recover because of our hope. Jesus Christ talked about our hope in John 5:28, "... all those in the memorial tomb will hear his voice and come out ". Jesus was referring to the resurrection, this is our amazing hope! The Bible likens our hope to an anchor. Just like an anchor stabilizes a ship our hope stabilizes us, keeps us from feeling a sadness that's overwhelming. 2 Cor.1:3 describes our Creator as, "... the God of all comfort ". One way that God comforts us is by moving people who care about us to give us words of encouragement that we need to hear. May the God of comfort be your comfort now during this time of sorrow. My thoughts are with your family. I grew up on Union Ave in the same block and knew Russ, Chuck, Shar and Delores. We all lived in a time when neighbors really knew their neighbors. Nice childhood memories.

My heart is so heavy from loosing my dearest friend Delores. I have known Delores all her life. We lived two houses from each other until one of us got married. Then we visited in our new homes. She and I talked about our childhood all the time. We had so much from back in the day. Not everything was prefect, but we got each other through what ever the worry or problem was. We learned everything together. We read about sex at the library. We hid the books we were reading behind other books. We learned how to smoke together. Her mom smoked camels and her dad smoked Winstons. So we cut the tips off her dad's already smoked Winston and taped them onto her mom's new camels. Then we would go behind our neighbors garage and light up. Scared to death that we would get caught. Never did. I could write a book about what we did growing up together with Chuck too. Chuck let me drive his Corvair when I didn't even have a licence. I loved that car. Midnight Blue with a white top. How cool was that. We played a lot a tricks on Chuck. Poor Chuck was color blind and when he would ask us if something matched every once in awhile we would tell him yes and he would leave the house dressed just awful. Us girls would just laugh. Delores loved animals her whole life. We always ended up at the pet shop. She hid so many different animals from her dad. Her mom knew. She had rabbits in her closet, white mice, gerbils, etc. She would have had puppies but they made to much noise. She had such a loving heart.I will miss talking to her about old times. But no one can take my memories away.I feel for her sister Shar. Having to bury her folks and all her siblings has to so hard. Especially when you are the oldest. She is a good sister and was there for them all.When times like this happen I wish I didn't live so far away. I won't be able to attend the funeral. I just can't afford it right now. My husband is suffering from MS. And we have had a lot of expence from that resently. But I will be there in spirit.Shelly and Bobbie I haven't seen you girls in many many years, but I loved your mother like my sister. If I could help you in anyway please call me. I would love to talk with you. If I could have come to the funeral I would have asked to talk about your mom at the services. But that just can't be.You are all in my prayers every day. It seems like not real. It has been only two years since we were teaching our children to say hot chocolate in English. You have always been so welcoming for me! From the first day I arrived to Wyoming being just 17 years old, You and your family made me feel like one of yourselves and I will always thank you for that. Finally you couldn't come to visit us. I will also remember the long talks with Steve and you. Probably his loss and some problems that came after that made last two years hard, but you have always been incredibly brave woman. We send you from here all our love, and for the rest of the family, our U.S. family, Michelle, Scott, Bobbi, Mandy and their families, also our love and support for the hard moments.
