

ANDERSON Donald H. Anderson, age 86 went to be with his Lord, Sunday, March 24, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn "Lynn" Anderson; son David Anderson; daughter-in-law Suzy Anderson; great grandchildren Meagan, Brady; parents Charles and Madge Anderson; brothers Billy, Floyd "David," Arthur, Bruce, Isaac, Howard. He will be lovingly remembered by his children Kristin (Robert) DeWard, Sue Ellen (Steven) Clark, Dan (Jodie) Anderson; grandchildren Ryan (Rhonda), Nathan (Andrea) and Aaron (Stephanie) DeWard, Stephanie Clark, Betsy Clark (Jay Heasley) and Terri Sue (Warren) Prostko, Cameron, Tyler, Mitchell Anderson; great-grandchildren Rachel, Jenna, Jack, Noelle, Micah, Caleb David; siblings Charles, Rodger (Barbara), Richard, Earl (Audrey), Norma (Ray) Posthumus, Carol (Paul) Schelling, sister-in-laws Bernice, Gerry, Mary, Nancy, Beverly; brother-in-law Danford (Doris) Richmond; daughter-in-law Debra Anderson; many nieces and nephews.
Don served in the U. S. Navy on the U.S.S. Goodhue as a motor machinist from 1944-46. After serving in the Navy he met Marilyn Richmond, got married in 1948 and lived in Lansing, MI. Don was a tool and die maker for GM for a period of time, after which they moved to Wyoming, MI. Don then went on to work for Good Steel, Inc. in sales. In 1975 he started his own business, United Steel Service. In the mid-1980s Don changed the name to Anderson Metal Service to represent his family's involvement in the business. In 2002 the family business concluded at which time Don finished his sales career representing Alro Steel Corporation. Don enjoyed playing golf and fishing with his brothers, spending time on his pontoon boat with his family of which family always came first.
Visitation with the family will be held from 2 - 4pm and 6 - 8pm, Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Cook Funeral (West) 4235 Prairie St SW, Grandville. Funeral service will be held at 10:30am Thursday, March 28th at Kentwood Community Church - 1200 60th Street SE, Kentwood with Pastor Chuck Roost officiating. Interment will be at Grandville Cemetery. In honor of Donald, contributions may be made to Sled Wings Hockey- care of Mary Free Bed Hospital or International Steward.
