Donald R. Palmer

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Donna Mills Palmer; children, Lou Ann Palmer Bill Slanger, Raymond Barbara Palmer, and Ronald Kimberlee Palmer; grandchildren, Renay, Corey, Nicklaus, and Elizabeth; sister-in-law, Karen Stephen Anderson; brother-in-law, Eric Norma Smith; several nieces and nephews; and many great friends.

Don worked for 41 years at the Kent County Parks Commission serving as the director for the last 10 years before retirement in 1989. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and was the greatest fan at his grandchildren's sporting events. Don was a person who was always there for his family and friends.

The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Cook Memorial Chapel, 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville East Building with Rev. Tom Pier-Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will be at Grandville Cemetery. The family will meet with relatives and friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home West Building.
