Edward Davis, age 83, passed into the arms of Jesus December 22, 2025. He is finally home, exactly where he wanted to be. Ed was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Joan Davis; granddaughter, Charlotte Weydert; great-grandson, Desiman Stone Jr.; brother-in-law, Dave Doezema.
A farmer at heart, Ed spent his professional life as a skilled steel fabricator and machinist. His passion for creating followed him home to his own machine shop, where he spent countless hours crafting special pieces for his family. Ed could also be found fishing, gardening, or enjoying a round of golf. In earlier years, he even shared his love for mechanics by owning a race car.
Ed’s faith was the cornerstone of his life. For over 30 years, he was a deeply active member of his church communities in Jenison and Lowell. Whether he was serving on the board, cooking for the men’s breakfast, or quietly handling whatever else was needed, Ed found great joy in serving the Lord.
He is survived by a large family who will forever cherish his legacy of hard work and devotion. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 47 years, Kathleen Davis; children Cherie (Tim) Jenson, Christine Fisher, Katherine Davis, Kimberly (John) Rademaker, Lorraine Davis, Anthony (Denise) Ergang, Tyson (Sarah) Ergang; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; siblings Phillip (Frances) Davis, Carolynn Doezema, Rich (Barb) Kornoelje, Russ (Chris) Kornoelje, Carole Hockeborne; sisters-in-law Judith Tatum, Martha (Stephen) Larson; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services for Ed will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2026, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m., at Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building) 4235 Prairie Street SW, Grandville, Michigan 49418.
In honor of Ed and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Parkinson’s Foundation. The family welcomes memories at www.cookcaresgrandville.com in their guestbook online.
