Eleanore “Ellie” Louise LaVean (Knop) age 85, of Jenison went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 26, 2021. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Garth LaVean; parents Gertrude and Anthony Knop; sister and brother-in-law Marion and Dick DeMol; and brother-in-law, Vern Richey. Ellie is survived by her sister, Ethel (Tom) Murphy; brother, Wayne (Ardith) Knop; and she was a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Ellie was an alumnus of Grand Rapids School of Bible and Music, serving many years as Alumni Secretary and worked at Bethany Christian Children’s Home. Many foster children benefited from her kindness, loving heart, and welcoming home. Ellie lived her life as a dedicated Christian and will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of being a part of her life’s journey.
Visitation with friends and relatives will take place on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 from 1 - 2 p.m. at Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418. A celebration of Ellie’s life will commence shortly after at 2 p.m.
