Elgan E. Rock

ROCK - Elgan E. Rock, age 88, went to be with his Lord Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at his home in Byron Center. He was born near Walnut Ridge, AR on October 29, 1917. He was preceded in death by his wife, Adeline in 1990, and his son Henry, in 1988.

Surviving are his daughter, June; son, Paul; grandson, Andrew; sister, Virgie Luther Crittendon of Kentwood; along with many nieces and nephews in Michigan and Arkansas.

Elgan was a charter member of Byron Center Bible Church. He worked for Butternut Bread for 34 years. He also delivered the Grand Rapids Press for over 20 years.

Funeral service will be held Monday, 11 a.m. at Byron Center Bible Church, 8855 Byron Center Ave. with Dr. Richard W. Gregory officiating.

Friends and relatives may meet Elgan’s family Saturday from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home Byron Center Chapel, 2067 84th St. Byron Center. Interment will be at Kent Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan or Byron Center Bible Church.
