Eugene "Gene" Yeglinski Jr. passed away Friday, August 22, 2025. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Yeglinski Sr.; sister, Carol Wiltjer; parents-in-law Chester and Florence (Kasperlik) Krupiczewicz. Gene will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary Jo (Krupiczewicz) Yeglinski; son, John Yeglinski (Anna Krinke); daughter, Lisa Yeglinski; mother, Nila Joan Yeglinski; sisters Suzanne Lowery and Judy Clinger; brothers-in-law Denny Clinger and Tom Wiltjer; brothers- and sisters-in-law Wes (Karen) Krupiczewicz, Ann (Drew) Peters, and Steve (Vicki) Krupiczewicz.
Gene worked at various tool and die shops in Grand Rapids before moving to the Detroit area in 1994 and working as an engineer at General Motors for 29 years. Gene loved boating, cool cars, having fun with family, traveling, and “cheering” for the Detroit Lions. He utilized his engineering skill set and passion for detail to renovate the family home and to restore the 1976 Trans Am. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends who loved him dearly.
Visitation will take place at Cook Memorial Chapel – East Building (4235 Prairie St. SW Grandville, MI 49418) from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2025, with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, August 28, 2025, at St. Pius X Catholic Parish (3937 Wilson Ave. SW Grandville, MI 49418), with visitation one hour prior to the service.
