Eulah Doris Gilbert

GILBERT-Eulah D. Gilbert age 90 of Hudsonville, went to be with the Lord, May 5, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; her parents Myron Freeman and Mabel Carpenter; and brother Cecil Freeman. She is survived by her children, Mary Sue VanNus of Wyoming, MI, Diane Henrichs of Janesville, WI, Thomas Janis Gilbert of Middleton, WI, and Ray Gilbert of WI; 4 grandchildren, Patty and Barry Henrichs, Eric and Aaron Gilbert; step granddaughter Khrysta Locke; brother Ward Faye Freeman of Middleville; sister-in-law Gertrude Gilbert; and many nieces and nephews. Eulah was a founding member of Georgetown United Methodist Church and very active in the life of the church.

She was a loving homemaker and helped support the family by working at Wurzburg's Department Store for a number of years. Eulah and Arthur volunteered in their retirement years with adult literacy and English as a second language through the Kent Literacy Council.

The funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Georgetown United Methodist Church, 2766 Baldwin, Jenison with Rev. Bill Bills officiating. Internment will be at Georgetown Cemetery.

The family will receive relatives and friends Tuesday 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 pm at the Cook Funeral Home, Grandville, 4235 Prairie St. west building.
