Gerrit L. Bultena

Gerrit L. Bultena, Soli Deo Gloria, at His appointed time the Lord took into His presence our beloved Husband, Father and Opa, at the age of 83, on April 6, 2012. Gerrit is survived by his wife of 58 years, Gep (VanderVaart); his children, Evie and Ray Boverhof, Bart and Julie Bultena, Patricia Bultena (deceased), Judy and Randy Flier, Sharon Grogg, Lynell and Marcus Scott; his 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; and a special family friend, Craig Woods. He is also survived by his brothers, Loyd and Tena of AR, Wim and Jopie, Fokko and Corrie; sisters, Alstje, Pie and Piet Pyper; and his sisters-in-law, Janny Slob and Annie Meiburg, all of The Netherlands. His grand and great grandchildren will always `remember the love he showed them. Gerrit was a maker of fine cabinetry in Grand Rapids for many years. His Christian walk was evident in the time and craftsmanship by which he supported many organizations, such as Christian schools, Mel Trotter, and church.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM Monday at Cook Funeral Home in Byron Center, 2067 a?" 84th St. SW. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday at Bethany United Reformed Church in Wyoming, 5401 Byron Center Ave. SW, with visitation prior to the service beginning at 10 AM. Rev. Casey Freswick and Rev. Art Besteman will be officiating. Interment will be at Washington Park Memorial Gardens.
