I will always remember Uncle Jim as a person who put his family first and loved his family tremendously. He enjoyed his grandchildren and was very proud of them. He always greeted me with a smile, a hug and a kiss. I will always remember Uncle Jim with fondness and love.

Our deepest condolences to the Birtles family on your loss. The Taschner family always enjoyed our Rose Lake neighbors. We felt like family especially before we had a shower in the cabin because we were always welcome to use the bath house on the hill. Thanks for being such good neighbors.

I'm not sure if it is the same Mark Birtles with whom I graduated. I graduated for Rogers in 1976. If you are one in the same I offer deep condolences. I know Mark always made me laugh and must have received his talent from one of his parents. I have lost both of my parents and just want to wish you and your family strength and to remember day by day things will get better. Never forgotten. I can't believe he's really gone. He was my boss for years and I learned alot from him. I remember what he always use to say to me: " If you have any sense you'll get out of this dirt business, and whatever you do,never take this foreman job." I'll never forget how calm and cool he was in all situations. Nothing ever seemed to get to him, and I wish I could have learned to emulate that quality of his. I wish I could have said goodby.
