His is survived by his children, April and Peter Spoelma; and the mother of his children, Pat Spoelma. Also surviving are his mother Rena Spoelma of Jenison; brother John Spoelma of Grand Rapids; sister Jerri and Eltjen Flikkema of MO; nieces, Lisa Riggins of MO, Tamara deWild of MO; and many aunts, uncles and cousins in the Netherlands.
Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday from 11 to 1 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home, Jenison, 1889 Baldwin St. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Those unable to attend the memorial visitation may sign the family's memory book at www.webobit.com.
