Margaret & family, I am truly saddened to hear of Henry's passing but know that he is with the Lord. I pray for strength for you all in your time of loss and wish you all well being. Henry was a very kind and professional individual whom I personally admired and am thankful to have known him. Jim

Thank you to everyone who has and is supporting me and my family. The girls in particular and Craig are taking Dad's passing very hard. Graig is pretty philosophical about it and says "we'll see him again". My Dad worked hard for us, he tried lots of different ways to earn a living in order to provide for Mom and the three of us kids. He worked for years as a brick layer and then a supervisor to brick layers. Mom took us kids up to Elsworth MI for a visit once. I was pretty excited and proud to visit him up there, otherwise he was gone 5 days a week when he worked that job. When he worked locally I remember occassionally sitting down at the end of Eastwood out front of the TerMeers' house on the firehydrant waiting for Dad to pull up and let me in to his rather bouncy work truck for the thrill of the ride together to the house a mere 4 houses up the road. I remember Mom packing Dad lots and lots of lunches in his lunch bucket. Dad later took a class to fix TVs. I recall him fixing a few but only a few. Later he went into Real Estate. He worked with my girlfriends father, Mr. Koetje and others including Ron Velarius who we teen girls thought was terrible cute. I remember Dad sticking to the straight and narrow during this time when others he worked with where busy with somewhat more wordly pursuits. Same with his time in Elsworth. I always knew he'd be faithful to my MOM. He became a builder too. Remeber him working hard to take the tests needed for these last pursuits. He built the house Craig and I and the kids live in. He put lots of time into it beyond for normal "customers" and additionally gave us a huge discount on the house which sure was helpful. We'll probably live here forever as my husband is a creature of habit and it has turned out to be a wonderful location. Thanks DAD. I remember Dad once setting off fireworks in the driveway and burning his hand. My poor kids pay for that because of my lingering fear of fireworks in the yard. Dad always called me "Bluey" because I loved to be in te water in the summer. I never knew if he meant a blue gill or a blue whaleI was much thinner then. Occassionally he'd jump in the pool briefly with us kids, I was always so excited when he would.
 I still remember 1 Christmas Dad went out and picked out a pair of brown courdaroy pants for me. I loved those pants because he picked them out. I was heartsick when I got a hole in them shortly thereafter.
 Dad enabled me to get through college. He gave me $100 but far more valuable was the car he let me use, he paid the insurance. Mom did the laundry and every other household thing and all I paid for was tuition and gas to and from school. Thanks DAD.
 Speaking of cars, it is well known that on occassion I would hit the side of the garage or the inside wall of the garage with the family car. I would bee line it past Mom who would have been upset and went directly for Dad who always would calmly fix the problem. I think he superglued a piece back on the old Oldmobile I drove. He never got mad. Dad only owned 2 new cars in his entire life and within a month of getting his second one I was visitng at the house in Hudsonville and he pulled into the driveway after I arrived parking behind and to the passenger side of my enormous van. Family members who know me know this is a very bad idea and I later went to leave and ran my van down the side of Dad's brand new car. Took the mirror off and scraped the door and back quarter panel. Dad came out of the house and never showed a single sign of being mad or even the least upset. He never said anything but that it could be fixed. He did get it fixed and he never said another word about it. Writing about it now I still feel bad but he never made me feel guilty for a second. Thanks DAD.
 Dad gave up other new cars and fancy vacations in order to put his three children through Christian school which I know helped make me and my faith what it is. He never said a word about these things he gave up and he never said a thing about financial pressures I'm sure he felt as tuition was expensive. He gladly took us on inexpensive but wonderful trips. We went camping, and went so many times with Aunts and Uncles and cousins to Cedar Point. We always had a blast. When we would go up to Canada Dad would drive and drive. We'd get out to look at the lovely lakes and beaches, our heads would bob up and down like in the "Vacation" movies and we'd jump back in the car minutes later to beat it down the road. We went a couple of times down to visit his sister and brothe-in-law in Arkansas. I remember Dad and Mom staying up with Al and Trudy until the wee hours of the night playing cards and telling stories. They always laughed and laughed together during these rare visits. 
 Dad loved my Mom. He was always most excited to buy her her favorite perfume, Shalimar. But he was a stinker and would always go out the week before Christmas and buy himself all kinds of new clothes and the like. Would always frustrate Mom because it was so close to Christmas and he'd buy stuff she would have gotten. About once a year my Dad would literally make Mom go buy some things for herself because if he didn't she'd never buy anything new.
 Dad was never happier than when he was planning a trip somewhere. He'd have maps and tripticks ready to go. In fact if Craig and I would be going somewhere, Dad would run out to the insurance company and grab us a trip tick too. He'd get the maps out and highlight the way for us and talk us through it. 
 Dad always made fun of my terribly loud and boisterous laugh but I know he was actually somewhat proud of it. He'd tease too that I'd get lipstick on him if I kissed his cheek but he'd always let me kiss him anyway. And Dad always held out his hand to me when we saw eachother and in his palm would always be candy which I particulary like, most ofter Wilhemina peppermints which he knew were my favorites. Why did he do this? Because he loved me. THANKS DAD. KIM
