Henry Valk

Henry Valk, age 97, went to be with his Lord, Saturday, April 29, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Anna Valk, and his sisters Anne Posthumas, Ruth Cota, and Emma Hunderman.

Henry will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 71 years, Marie Valk (Voogt); his children Joyce (Henry) VanderWerp, Carol (Henk) deWilde, Jack Valk; his grandchildren Thomas (Monique) VanderWerp, David (Shannon) VanderWerp, Jan (Roger) Mullennix, Cheryl (Jeremy) Overweg, Lori (Dennis) Kaptein, Brian (Megan) deWilde; his 16 great-grandchildren; his brother John (Joyce) Valk; his brother-in-law Henry Hunderman; and his many nieces and nephews.

Henry served in the US Army during WWII in the Pacific Theatre.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, at Cook Memorial Chapel in Grandville, 4235 Prairie St. SW (east building), with visitation prior to the service beginning at 12 p.m. Rev. James Evenhouse will officiate. Interment will be at Georgetown Cemetery.
