When I lost my Papa so many years ago I always feared that my sweet Grandmother would be so lonely. As with all things in life though God looked down from Heaven and saw both Herb and MaryAnn lonely and grieving. He lighted the way to help them find each other to fill that missing piece that they both lost. I thank God that he blessed not only my Grandmother but our entire family with the precious gift of having Herb in our lives. He was always there with a smile, hug and piece of gum. When my oldest daughter was born I was blessed to be able to stay with Gramma and Herb for a short time to heal and not only did I fall in love with Herb but my baby Shy did as well. He would not put her down, he held her, sang and talked to her all day and well into the night. I had alot of fun breaking her of that bad habit, but I guess thats what Great Grandpas are for. Herb will be missed here on earth by so many with that smile that could light up a room and lift anyones spirit. Though I will cry for myself, I smile knowing that he is reunited with his beautiful wife and think of how much fun the two of them and my Gramma and Papa must be having up in paradise. 
 Thank you to the Vincent family for sharing such a great man with our family; he is a great man and we are all blessed to have known him.

We were blessed to have Herb in our lives. When he entered mom's life, he added time and quality to her world. They would walk every day, and he helped her increase her stride from a few feet to 5 miles at a time. They would take trips from Sault Ste. Marie to Mount Rushmore to Atlanta, Georgia. They loved to travel together, no matter how short or how far. He made our mom so happy and brought so much joy to her life. We are eternally grateful to him and to God for bringing them together. They were able to fill the void that was so apparent in both of them.
 One of the biggest kicks we got from him was watching him with his "squirrel proof" birdfeeder. He would put the feeder down low enough so the squirrel could jump on the bottom of the feeder, then watch as the feeder started to spin from the weight of the squirrel and gain enough speed to make the squirrel airborne. The smile on his face was like a kid in a candy store.

We will always be grateful for the love and light that Herb brought into Mom's life. Never forget the day Mom called me to "explain" how her relationship with Herb was becoming something more than just friendship. Like she was afraid we might not approve. In no uncertain terms, we all let her know that this was the best thing that could happen to her, and to him, and that we would wish them many years of sharing this new love together. Then I remember the December shortly after, when CJ and I took then to dinner at Charlies Crab, and she was wearing an engagement ring! Giggling like a school girl, saying they had agreed she could wear it tonight, but then would have to take it off till they could let everyone know. I hadn't seen my Mom so happy and animated, and so YOUNG, in so many years, and I will always thank God for sending my Mom a second wonderful man to make her happy. God Bless you Herb, sympathy to all of the family, but keep the happy thought that he is back with his 2 loves in heaven.

Even as us children didn't know him for his full 90 years we knew what kind of person he had been thru the many people we meant going thru lives journey. He touched many and was loved by all. We will miss him every day of our lives just as we continue to miss our mother. Now they are together and everything is as he has planned for his whole life.

I will miss you so much but honestly feel so jealous that you get to be with grandma, uncle Tim, Luke, and everybody else that we all miss much. I'm not ready to go now but save me a spot and give them all huge kisses for all of us. And give Luke a special huge hug I hear he needs it let him know all is well at home and his family has had some peace. I wish I could hear the angels sing when you got there and what a sight to see all our family members waiting to welcome you into the pearly gates. I truly "can only imagine". The heaven was a happier place the 13th of august 2013. Love and hugs the weavers.
