

James David Jacobitz, age 62, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2011, due to complications following a snowmobile accident. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Willard and Ruth Jacobitz; his niece, Kelly Ann Jacobitz; and his sister-in-law, Karen Krueger.
Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 38 years, Kathy Jacobitz (Stoutjesdyk); his daughter, Sarah Jacobitz and Paul Tate, and their son Henry James Tate; his son, James David Jacobitz; his daughter Katie and Brad Bishop and their daughters, Karen Elizabeth and Harriet Anne; his siblings, Sandra (Gordon) Hoeksema, John (Rennae) Jacobitz, Marilyn (Russell) VanDenBos; his aunt, Dorothy Linscott (Jacobitz); his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Ron (Sue) Stoutjesdyk, Robert Krueger, Tom (Chris) Stoutjesdyk, Patty (Craig) Rowekamp; and many nieces and nephews. Jim was the owner and President of JVH Engineering, Inc. He graduated from Michigan Technological University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in electrical engineering. He remained close with his fraternity brothers from Delta Sigma Phi. Jim and Kathy enjoyed traveling together and with friends. His family, his work and his passion for life defined him. A time for relatives and friends to visit with Jim's family will be held at the Cook Memorial Chapel in Grandville, 4235 Prairie St. SW (east building) from 6 to 9 PM Wednesday, March 30th. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held 11 AM Friday, April 1st, at the Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, 1000 East Beltline Ave. NE, in Grand Rapids. Dr. Ronald Zartman will be officiating. In honor of Jim, contributions may be made to the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital or Faith Hospice - Trillium Woods, in lieu of flowers.
