Jane Haveman

HAVEMAN Jane Sytsma Haveman, child of God, daughter of Henry and Jenny Sytsma, wife of the late Joe Haveman, dear mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to many went to her heavenly home on Monday September 21st 2009.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Fred, Gerald, and Ralph Sytsma. Born on June 11, 1911, Jane lived most of her life in Moline, MI.

Despite being unable to attend school beyond eighth grade, Jane was self educated and a world traveler. She loved history, poetry, music, art, cooking, gardening and making our home a gathering place for family and their friends.

Her memory will be cherished by her children, Janice Peter Vermaat of Greene, NY, Mary Haveman of Pleasant Ridge, MI, Tom Haveman, and Fred Haveman both of Moline, Linda Nagel and Susan Gerald Kruyf of Grand Rapids; 14 grandchildren; her great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; beloved sister, Joan E. Potts; sister-in-law, Gert Sytsma; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, 1 P.M. at Moline Christian Reformed Church, 4341 Chappell St., Moline, with Rev. John Ouwinga officiating. Interment will be at Hooker Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet her family Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the Cook Funeral Home, Byron Center Chapel, 2067 84th St., Byron Center and Thursday from 12 noon until the time of her service at the church.
