Last night I noticed a link Aunt Alice posted to her timeline early New Year's Eve. It was titled: 16 Things You Should Say Goodbye To In 2016. As I was reading it, the 6th one jumped out at me, and I thought of you immediately. It read:"Say goodbye to the times you cried and the times you were in so much pain, and give yourself a pat on the back for getting through yet another obstacle. Sooner or later, you will get to the finish line."Jason, YOU MADE IT TO THE FINISH LINE on New Year's Day!!!!! May God hold you in the palm of his hand, and comfort those who love you. I hadn't seen you in far too many years, but I am among those people, and have prayed for your recovery more times than you ever could have known.Whenever I think of you, the vision of you and Jessica, all dressed up, dancing at your Dad and Shelly’s wedding, is vivid for me. You were only five and six years old, and danced as only children dare to dance. There have been thousands of family snapshots taken since then, but whenever I think of you, my photo of this is always the picture that that pops into my head first.Whatever it took, Jason, you hung in there! Even when life didn’t work out the way you hoped or planned it would be, and long afterward—until you crossed that finish line on the first day of 2016. My thoughts and prayers go out to your friends and family Jason. You where such a kindhearted person. You helped me get through a tough time and always had input and stories for me. We talked about so many different things and got along right off the bat. I wish there was someway for me to at least say goodbye to you man, you'll always be in my memories.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of Jason's loved ones. I was very shocked and saddened to learn of Jason's death. He was my cousin and I have many fond childhood memories of Jason!
