

DEKKER - Mr. Jayson Cleo Dekker, age 82, was peacefully called home to his Lord, surrounded by his family, Friday, July 19, 2013. Jayson was born to John and Cora (Beukema) Dekker on March 29, 1931, in Grand Rapids, MI. He served his country proudly with the U.S. Army 11th Airborne Division during the Korean War from 1948 to 1954. Jayson was preceded in death by the love of his life, Isabelle, and his brother, Irwin Dekker. He will be deeply missed by his daughters, Cheryl (Terry) Warners, Linda DeKruyter, and Jane (Max) Busscher; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; his sisters, Joyce (Ken) VanHekken, Jean (Jay) Dykstra, and Betty Palmquist; and his brother-in-law, Donald (Louise) Boven. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11 AM, at Jamestown Reformed Church, 2554 Riley St., Jamestown, with Rev. Sam Hendrickson officiating. Interment will be at Georgetown Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet Jayson's family Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Cook Funeral Home (West building), 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville.
