Jennie K. Meyer

MEYER Klein – Jennie K. Meyer, age 96, of Jenison, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 09, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Meyer; and sisters, Agnes Schreuder and Betty Bratt. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Richard Mary Meyer, Janet Harry Kuperus, Anne Randy Christenson, and Stuart Sheila Meyer; 18 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; siblings, Alice Ken Slager, Grace Slager, and Neil Nell Klein; brother-in-law, Dan Bratt; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Jennie was born in Grand Rapids and was raised in Detroit, where she graduated from Southeastern High School. In 1943, she married John Meyer from New Jersey where they raised their family from 1945 to 1977. In 1977 they retired and made their home in Jenison. After John died in 2000, Jennie moved to Sunset Manor. Mom was a gracious hostess as well as a wonderful example of Christian living.

We thank Sunset Manor staff for their loving care. The funeral service will be held 11 am Monday at the Chapel at Sunset Manor, 725 Baldwin Dr., Jenison, with Rev. Terry Scholten officiating. Interment will be at Georgetown Cemetery. The family will meet with relatives and friends on Sunday from 2-4 pm at the Cook Funeral Home, 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville West Building and one hour prior to the service at Sunset Chapel.
