Johanna Ruth Stevens Stevens Boelema

STEVENS BOELEMA (KAAT) J. Ruth Stevens Boelema, age 91, of Grandville, went Home to her Lord on Friday, October 20, 2012. Ruth was born on October 22, 1920, daughter of Martin (Bertha) Kaat. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Russell Boelema and Kenneth Stevens; brothers, Sandy Kaat and Martin Kaat; and her sister, Marge Growe.

Ruth was a loving mother and grandmother and will be fondly remembered by her children, Lois Groothuis, Jim and Caryn Boelema; her grandchildren, Tracy (Mark) Ferguson, Todd (Kelly) Groothuis, Jayme (Steve) Golson, Matt (Jennie) Boelema, Scott (Katie) Boelema; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy Newell; brother, Robert (Cid) Kaat, sisters-in-law Marian Feldt, Kaye Boelema, Ruth Boelema and Jo Boelema; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the wonderful staff at Brookcrest that lovingly cared for Mom for many years.

The family will celebrate her life at a funeral service 3:30 PM Monday, October 22 at the Cook Memorial Chapel (east building) with visitation prior to the service beginning at 1:30 PM. Interment will be at Grandville Cemetery. In honor of Ruth, contributions may be made to Brookcrest Nursing Home.
