John D. Sprague, of Grandville, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family and is now in glorious Heaven with no pain. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Norma Sprague and his father-in-law, John F. Wormmeester. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Sheryl; son, John (Lauren) Sprague; and sisters Kathy (Eugene) Franks and Sue (Phil) Monterusso.
John worked as a food service director for Creative Dining Services for over 15 years, as well as other food service positions during his lifetime. He loved to cook, entertain, and create fancy dishes and presentations. John and his wife, Sheryl, traveled extensively throughout the years and moved two years ago to a condo in Grandville, which they loved. John also loved to camp with their motorhome, with their favorite campground being Mitchell State Park in Cadillac. John and Sheryl were "foodies" and loved to dine out and explore new restaurants. He loved all of his dogs throughout the years, with his favorite being Hope, the Westie. John endured many mental and physical adversities with extreme courage and will. He struggled courageously, especially during the past few years being on kidney dialysis and having major heart issues. He always had a positive outlook on life, loved his wife dearly, was always happy, and enjoyed being social. John was affectionately known to his wife and her family as "Spraguely." He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
