Kay was born in Vogel Center, Michigan and moved to Grand Rapids to attend Davenport College. She lived and raised her family in the Grandville/Hudsonville/Jenison area. She was a longstanding member and faithfully served as the secretary of Zion Reformed Church in Grandville for 35 years. We would be remiss if we did not acknowledge that she was also a lifelong loyal Tigers fan.
