He will be deeply missed by his wife of 12 years, Terri Martin; his children and their spouses Myrrh Martin, Micah Martin, Bethany Meaker, Andrew Bedinger, and Chelsea Bedinger; grandchildren Rhane Hector, Dune Hector, Ailey Hector, Tesla Martin, Isabella Martin, Bianca Meaker, Aster Meaker, and Iris Meaker; his siblings and their spouses Karen Shiflett and Eric Martin; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Kevin was a man of faith and former pastor. He supported everyone he met through prayer and love in Jesus’ name. Countless people will remember him for his service, kind words, and meaningful hugs. As a paramedic, Kevin also saved lives in the literal sense.
He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. After his honorable discharge, he attended seminary and was later recruited by the United States Army as a Chaplain for the 12th Special Forces Group based out of Arlington Heights.
Kevin was also an avid outdoorsman, enjoying camping and practicing basic survival skills. He was actively involved in the Boy Scouts of America as a mentor until his death and was involved with the organization for many decades. Many scouts called him padre and considered him as family.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2020 at Kentwood Community Church Wyoming Campus, 2950 Clyde Park Ave. SW, Wyoming, MI 49509. Family will receive guests from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
In memory of Kevin and lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Victorious Ministries Through Christ.
