My sympathy to the Schuitema family. I pray The Lord Jesus will supply comfort to you in this difficult time. I remember Kevin(Stumpy) He played football at THEPARK and was a true Viking.  Kurt give me a shout sometime so we can catch up God's Blessings. 

Kevin was my brother's Scott good friend for many years. Kevin went on family vacation with us at Silver Lake. I had the privilege to wrestle on the same team at Wyoming Park . Share some beverage with my Dad in heaven Kevin (Stumpy)

Well I sit here still trying to catch my breath at the passing of my dear, sweet friend of 40 + years. So many thoughts and tears shed since the evening of November 16th when he contacted me from the Hospital to inform me of the road that lay ahead. That road ended up being so much shorter than we could have imagined. The path we traveled will be forever etched in my heart. From the 20 years or so of sitting together at The Fishery 2 or 3 times every week in the  morning. Where we would work on solving the Worlds problems or creating a few. We never lacked for things to laugh, cry or debate about. Always with love and kindness for each other. There was not a  more loyal, straight forward friend that one could ask for in their life . Anything shared was always from his Heart and always in your best interest. Never a man with a  hidden agenda. One always new where they stood with Kevin. He loved family and friends with such loyalty, the hole left will be impossible to fill. My Heart aches for all who were touched and loved by this special Soul and the loss you are feeling. Hoping you have found that perfect stretch of Highway to ride. Where the roads are smooth, the winds are soft and the Sun is gentle upon you. Hopefully one day we will cross paths again. Somewhere beyond that Great horizon.

I met Kevin when he owned Alto bar. We became friends real quick. We both loved NASCAR he was a big Jeff Gordon fan and I was a Huge Mark Martin fan. Every Sunday no matter what we would watch the race together. He loved teasing me about Jeff always winning and Mark never winning. We would bet something or another every race. Of course I always lost. Each week I gladly paid my debt. One of our bet was  if I lost I had to work for him. Well....I then became his employee. This picture shows another bet I lost. I had to wear a Jeff Gordon shirt all day! I can still picture his face that day and how happy it made him. I have so many wonderful memories with this amazing man and for that I will be forever grateful. RIP my beautiful friend. I love you more! 

My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. May we all find comfort, peace and understanding. 

Kevin was a neighbor as we grew  up on Collingwood.  It was a joy to play kickball and kick-the-can until the sun would set and we would get called in.  He was fun, kind, competitive and a good friend.  My prayers to those who call him son, brother, dad and friend!

I knew Kevin since he was in high school. A great young man.
A great athlete. All ways had a great attitude. RIP.

I worked with Kevin at Steelcase for many years!!!  He’s was a great guy and a good softball player!!!!  RIP FRIEND💜

I graduated with Kevin in 1977 from Wyoming Park HS. I remember him well as a very good athlete and friendly person. I also worked at Steelcase off and on through the years and still do. I talked to Kevin at work a time or two. He got along great with everyone. Just a very friendly guy. I'm still in shock about reading of his passing. 
  My condolences to his family. He will be missed.

I worked with Kevin for the past 18 years. He was my work bud. We would shoot the breeze every day about everything including politics, women, movies (he introduced me to Cool Hand Luke), his venison chili, and so much more. He was always trying to convince me to buy a motorcycle. Maybe someday.
He had that tough exterior, but he had an awesome sense of humor and a good heart. He would do anything for anyone in need of help. And great work ethic too. I think in the 18 years I worked with him, he maybe called in sick twice.
He will definitely be missed by me and his fellow co-workers at Essendant. Anytime I hear "Free Bird" (his favorite song) by Lynyrd Skynyrd (his favorite band), I will instantly think about Kevin and his face lighting up.
My prayers go out to his friends and family. 

A Polaroid picture from my graduation party at Gun Lake in 2017. A life that ended way too soon, but the fact that all my memories of cousin Kevin are of him happy with a smile, means that it was a life well lived.

I was saddened to hear that Kevin had passed. 
He was such a happy person and a great friend to my sister Cindy, Julie, Audrey, Denise & Phyllis.
What you may not know was that Kevin was a frequent visitor to our house.  He came by often and we very much enjoyed his company.
The Schuitema family was very close to ours and I wish to send all my love & prayers to May, Kurt and Kathy and all the family on their loss.  
Rest in Peace Kevin.

Kevin, you will be truly missed.  many great memories, we drove down to Ohio to be with Julie during a time she needed people who cared.  Many other great memories, too many to express.
