Lillian K. Mcintyre

McINTYRE DIGGS - Lillian McIntyre, age 88, of Jenison formerly of Matthews, VA, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 10, 2010, after a long and wonderful life. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Earl in 1998. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Victor whom she lives with; and her daughter, Janet Daniel Daily of Kentwood; three grandchildren, Annette McIntyre of Vero Beach, FL, Christy Jason Reese of Grand Rapids, and Todd Jason Daily of Kentwood; one dear brother-in-law, Hiram "Chip" Kathryn "Kit" McIntyre of Wyoming; and sister-in-law, Frances McIntyre of Grandville; and many close nieces, nephews, and cousins both in Virginia and Michigan; and many close loving friends in both states.

Lillian attended St. Paul United Methodist Church in Virginia and Wesley Park United Methodist Church in Michigan. She is a graduate of the old Norfolk General in Virginia and spent many years working at Butterworth Hospital and retired from Kent Community Hospital in 1978. She married Earl McIntyre in 1945 in Grand Rapids where they lived and raised their family. When they retired in 1978 they moved to Virginia where they lived with access to the Chesapeake Bay and enjoyed twenty years of fishing, traveling, and enjoying the company of their families and friends. After losing her husband in 1998, Lillie moved back to Michigan to live with her son.

The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Cook Memorial Chapel 4235 Prairie SW East Building. The family will meet with relatives and friends on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home 4235 Prairie SW West Building.
