The Michigan DX Association mourns the loss of club member Bud Owen,KG8BK. Bud was an avid DXer but more importantly,he was a "Ham for all seasons". Bud lived in Jenison,MI and for many years he was active with the IRA,MDXA,541 Inc and MARA.He also served the Independent Repeater Association.Bud was also an Honor Roll member and a prince of a guy.He had a great sense of humor and he was also very supportive of many area clubs. Bud was also a man of God and a well known defender of the church.He is gone but not forgotten,he now belongs to the ages We will miss him greatly and we thank the Lord for sharing him with us.He was a blessing to all who knew him.Bud we know that you are with our Lord and we also know that he is well pleased with your great service!

My husband Bob and Myself, send our sincere sympathy to you and your family. Bud was a member of my Merrie class and I corrisponded with him alot over the past couple years. Bob knew him as a young boy. We were so shocked and sorrowed at reading about him in the paper. I Have known Bud for many years as by the way of Amateur Radio. I remember the times when Bud had stop by when still working with MichCon and he showed my street blueprint. The one thing I teased Bud about the most was the way the dispatcher at MichCon called hime on the Radio... Hey Budddddd" in a low key tone. Anytime I heard him on the radio I say Hi Buddd and he would always respond Him Tim without even given my callsing to identify and he always chuckled at this. I miss the lunches we use to do with and without friends that would get together from time to time. Bud you will be missed by many and My prayers go out to your family in this time to help ease their sorrow.... God Bless You All.

 Bud "LIVED" this code. I will miss him greatly. He was a fine ham radio operator and teacher to many. I take comfort knowing that Bud is with are lord and savior.

Marrianne, words cannot express the loss I feel. Bud was more than a father in law, he was a standard that I hope to one day live up to. He was a friend, a dad, a listener, and an advice giver. I wish that he did not have to leave us so soon, but I am glad that he is in heaven now since this is what he was always working towards. If there is anything I can do please ask. Love Bill.

I was saddened to hear of "Bud's" passing. A great loss to us all. Obviously he is known and loved by many. When I first moved to the area, I attended a meeting of the Holland Amateur Radio Club. Bud was quick to introduce himself and make me feel welcome. Bud always had time to talk and offer a friendly word of encouragement or advice. I always left the conversations with a smile.

Reading the various tributes of Bud you can learn of his generous heart, his kind ways and his friendships to one and all. I know first hand of his beaming smile from the pictures that we exchanged. Hi Marianne, I am shocked to hear that my good friend and fellow ham has gone to be with our Lord. Bud was one of those "special" people. We especially enjoyed the chinese lunches with Bud, Larry England, Ron Mann and some of the other hams in GR. Bud will be missed by all. I regret that I was not able to pay my respects personally, but I only received the word today. I trust that God will give you His comfort, knowing we will meet Bud again. Just imagine the wonderful "hamshack" in that mansion God has prepared for us.
