

Lois “Loie” Mae Lanting, age 67, passed away unexpectedly August 27, 2025. Lois was a devoted mother, grandmother, and partner. She spent her life in Grandville where she had many friends and made many, many memories. She loved to camp, read, go shopping, spend time with her family, and go to as many of the grandchildren's activities and sporting events as she possibly could. She loved the Lord with all her heart and expressed that to her family and through her actions all the time. She left an incredible mark on those who had the opportunity to call her Mom and Grandma!
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lanting; granddaughters Aubrey and Payton Groeneveld; mom and dad, Howard and Marie Bultema; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Mark Sneller; father- and mother-in-law, James and Clarine Lanting. She is survived by her children Melissa Winterhalter, Jennie and Ken Groeneveld, Josh and Ashley Lanting; grandchildren Keegan, Sydney, and Bryson Winterhalter, Alexis Groeneveld, Kora, Jaxton, and Jett Lanting; and life partner, Thomas Chase. She is also survived by her sister, brothers, many nieces and nephews, and many friends who loved her dearly.
A funeral service celebrating Loie’s life will be held 12 p.m. Friday, September 5, 2025 at Cook Memorial Chapel, 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418, with visitation from 10-11:45 a.m. prior to the service. Loie will be laid to rest at Grandville Cemetery. In memory of Loie and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of West Michigan or Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital.
