BALDWIN Our precious mother, Lucinda M. Baldwin, age 84, made her final journey to be absent from the body and present with her Lord on Wednesday, September 12, 2012. Restored and renewed, we can only imagine the joy that she once anticipated, she now embraces. She was born in Marquette, MI in February of 1928 to Lawrence and Gladys Olsen. In 1947 she was voted Miss Marquette and then chosen to be Winter Queen for that year. While attending Northern Michigan University, she met and married her sweet heart, Donald Baldwin, who preceded her in death on July 26, 2012. They enjoyed a long and happy marriage of 64 years and were blessed with 6 children, 20 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. She leaves to enjoy her memory, Dan Baldwin, Kim and Les Blount, Bobbie and Larry Rutz, Dick and Jan Baldwin, Gail and Tim Brown, and David and Juli Baldwin; and her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered as a favorite music and kindergarten teacher, having taught in the Lake Orion School District for 23 years. Mom also loved to spend time traveling, motorcycling, snowmobiling, painting, sewing, knitting and making music. She was a Proverbs 31 lady, "... and her children rise up and call her blessed...
Her memorial service will be held Sunday, 2 PM at the Cook Memorial Chapel (east building), 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville, MI. Her family welcomes memories and messages in her guest book online at www.cookfamilycares.com.
