Lyall E. Shepard

He was 66 years of age. After marrying Alice Balzer in 1955, he attended, and graduated in 1961, from the Grand Rapids Baptist College and Seminary.

He pastored the Grandville Baptist Church from 1961 to 1968, along with pastorates in Rives Junction, Ionia, MI, Othello, WA and Anderson, CA.

In 1985 Rev. Shepard became a part of Baptist Church Planters as a Pastor/Missionary, moving to Arizona in 1986 where he was presently establishing a church in Surprise.

Rev. Shepard is survived by his loving wife; five children, Vickie, Greg, Kimberly, Julie and Pamela; their spouses; ten grandchildren; and sister Phyllis Lods.

Rev. Shepard will be remembered by many for his ability to convey Biblically based wisdom and reassurances during difficult times.

The funeral service will be held Monday 11 a.m. at the Grandville Baptist Church 4325 40th St., Grandville with Rev. Wesley Smith officiating.

Interment Kent Memorial Gardens.

The family will meet with relatives and friends Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home, Grandville 4235 Prairie St. SW - west building.
