Maria Hanna Miller

MILLER - Maria Hanna "Cookie" Miller, age 88, of Grandville, left her life here and passed on to her eternal life to join family members and her Lord, Sunday, December 20, 2009. Maria had served for many years as the secretary for Grandville 1st Reformed Church and will be especially remembered for her service to the Amvets National Ladies Auxiliary. The Grand Rapids Home for Veterans honored her for 50 years of service to the Auxiliary. Throughout her fifty years with the Auxiliary, she served as Local, Department of Michigan, and National President of its organization, as well as being named the 2001 Member of the Year.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland D. Miller, and children, Robert D. and Karalee. She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Marijo Robert E. Gill of Las Vegas, NV, and Ruthann Bean of Overland Park, KS; grandchildren, Michelle Paul Eisinger of Las Vegas, NV, Kristin Dana Gosko of Hudsonville; great grandchildren, Kylee and Tyler Wesseldyk, Brandon and Jordan Eisinger, and Caleb Gosko; sister, Mildred VanderVeen of Houghton, NY; and nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Monday, 11 a.m., December 28, 2009 , at the Cook Memorial Chapel east building 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville, with Rev. Eildert Zwart of Beverly Reformed Church, officiating. Interment will be at Allendale Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet her family Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home west building.
