Marilyn A. Guffy

Marilyn was born in Jackson, Michigan. She graduated from St Mary’s High School in 1955. She attended college at Mount St. Joseph College, a Catholic all girl’s college, in Cincinnati Ohio where she graduated with a teaching degree in Elementary Education. She taught first grade for several years at Queen of the Miraculous Medal school, in Jackson Michigan. In 1960, she married the love of her life, Bill Guffy, and they just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on January 30, 2020. They lived in Jackson, Michigan and raised 5 children there. Marilyn’s children and grandchildren were her absolute joy and purpose in life. In 1998, they moved to Hudsonville Michigan to be closer to their grandchildren. She spent countless days at little league games, swim meets, watching band and orchestra concerts, and feeding her grandchildren. Marilyn and Bill spent 25 years wintering in Naples, Florida where they still have many friends.

Marilyn is survived by a sister, Pat (Ron) Witt, in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Children: Michael Guffy, Patty (Adam) Beeker, Mary Guffy, and Barbara (Janna) Guffy; grandchildren Taly (Peter) Russo, Austin Guffy, Chelsea Guffy, Stuart Guffy, Miles Guffy, Alex (Courtney) Beeker, Will Beeker, Addison Beeker, and Joel Beeker; three great-granddaughters.

A family Committal ceremony will be held on Tuesday at Resurrection cemetery. Due to the concerns regarding COVID-19, a funeral mass will be held at St. Pius X church at a later date.
