Marjorie DeVries

DE VRIES - Mrs. Marjorie Roossien DeVries, age 90, went to heaven to play her organ for the Lord, Wednesday, June 3, 2009. She will be fondly remembered for her faithful service as a church organist for 70 years. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; son, Glen; and brother, Lewis Roossien. She will be deeply missed by her children, Norman and Verna DeVries, Ray and Karen DeVries, and Paul and Bonnie DeVries; grandchildren, Jim Shelly DeVries, Doug Luann DeVries, Steve Tina DeVries, Tim DeVries, Kevin DeVries, Cherie William Polo, Amanda DeVries, Mike DeVries, Tracy DeVries, Naomi Mark Ponerantz; great grandchildren, Courtney, Lindsey, Dan, Abby, Emily, Grace, Sam and Carlee; sisters-in-law, Arlene Roossien, and Gertrude DeVries; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Sunset Manor, 725 Baldwin, Jenison, with Rev. Jerry Van Groningen and Rev. Louis Roossien officiating. Interment will be at Winchester Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet her family Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home west building, 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville, and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of her service at Sunset Manor.
