Martha Nauta

NAUTA (van der Brug) Martje "Martha" Nauta, age 89, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Friday, February 8, 2013. Martje was born October 13, 1923 in Oosterbierum, Friesland, the Netherlands to Johannes van der Brug and Trijntje van der Brug-Statema. In 1956, she and Pieter moved their family to the United States. She was preceded in death by her husband Pieter Nauta and her son, Sijtze Nauta.

Martha will be lovingly remembered by her children, Trena Nauta, John and Sheryl Nauta, Anna and Jim Johnson, Harvey Nauta; her daughter-in-law, Kathy Nauta; her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Steve (Kristen) Nauta- Abby & Andrew; Christy (Jeff) Roloff- Liam & Ella; Michael (Anna) Johnson- Elyse; David (Amy) Johnson- Nolan and Luke; Jeffrey (Kristine) Johnson; Matt (Alison) Nauta; Mark (Rachelle) Nauta; Daniel Nauta (fiancAC. Mariah Vincek); Elizabeth Nauta and Elya Nauta; her siblings-in-law, Rommy van der Brug-Hardenberg of the Netherlands and John and Ellen Keur; her nieces and nephews; and her relatives in the Netherlands. The family would like to thank Dr. Kyle Rasikas and Dr. Richard McNamara for their wonderful care over many years.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 PM Monday, February 11 at Cook Funeral Home in Grandville, 4235 Prairie St. SW (west building). Funeral services for Martha will be held privately for the family.
