Martin R. Batts

BATTS - Martin R. Batts age 79 of Jenison, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, May 7, 2014. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Anne; children, Mike and Diane Batts, Wes and Deb Batts, Tim and Brenda Batts, Marcy and Curt Brower, Amy and Mark Cashen. Grandchildren Katie and Pete DeJong, Lindsey and Adam VanLente, Jennifer and Nick Kloosterhouse, Rachel Batts, Kyle Batts, Brandon and Ceren Peterson, Brooke Peterson, Alex Batts, Blake Peterson, Cassie Bos, Jamie Brower, Tiffany Brower, Brody Brower, Brenden Cashen, Hunter Cashen and one great grandchild Evie DeJong.

Martin was preceded in death by his brother, Nick Batts; brother-in-law Peter Oppewall, and sister-in-law Grace Boelkins. He is survived by his brother Pete and Marlene Batts; sister Connie and Roger VanDuinen; brothers and sisters-in-law Mary Oppewall, John and Lola Ferwerda, Martin and Bernice Ferwerda, Winston Boelkins, and Peter and Jan Ferwerda.

A celebration of life service will be held 6:30 pm Monday, May 12, 2014 at Jenison Bible Church, 6360 14th Ave, Jenison with Pastor Stephen LeBar and Pastor Lee Beur officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends Monday 4 pm to 6 pm at the church. The family welcomes memories and messages in their online guest book at www.cookcares.com.
