Mike was born in 1942 and grew up in Linwood, Pennsylvania. He graduated Chichester High School in 1960. He met Helen “Dee” Doyle, the love of his life, and the two married in 1963. He began a lifelong career at Reynold’s Metals Company that took the family to multiple states before putting down roots in Jenison, Michigan. He was dedicated and hardworking in his field. After retiring from Reynolds, he continued working as a consultant in the aluminum industry for another decade. He was an active member of Holy Redeemer Parish.
Mike is best remembered for his deep, contagious laugh and his sense of humor. He loved people and could easily strike up a conversation with anyone. He had a welcoming nature and calm presence. He led by example, just showing up and doing what needed to be done with no desire for recognition or praise. When thinking of Mike, the Philadelphia Eagles always come to mind. He was a true fan, through thick and thin, never missing a game whether in person as a season ticket holder or on television. Mike loved his wife, children, and grandchildren beyond measure. His commitment and connection to his beautiful wife never faded in their 62 years of marriage. He even eagerly followed his beloved Dee Dee to Heaven just weeks after she left us. Many thanks to Gretchen Ross for helping the couple spend time together. Another heartfelt thank you to St. Ann’s for providing a loving, faith-filled environment for Mike.
