Such a lovely lady & a beautiful example of Christ's love. To see her in the video of her life, it was a joy to see her loving smile, not only for her husband, children, grandchildren & great grandchildren, but for everyone she came in contact with.  Nettie was radiant! I'd  planned to come to her Celebration of Life service, but due to unforeseen circumstances, I was unable. Thinking of you all today & in the days ahead as you mourn her loss on earth, we are comforted to know she is now in  the arms of Jesus!

There is a picture in the memory photos of me, husband Wayne, Michele, Rodney, Craig and Aunt Nettie. It was the summer of 2019, I think. This is when they were getting the house ready to sell so they could move to Leslies. We sat on the porch and told stories and talked. At the time Nettie made the comment that Walt was getting rid of everything. Especially, outside furniture. She said with a LAUGH, if I was sitting out here in a chair he probably would have gotten rid of me to. She had such a way with words to make us all laugh. Craig and Walt may also remember there was quite an argument when Nettie couldn't find the big pot she wanted to use to cook dinner. We did find some other pot that worked, but Nettie with her unique humor said: told you he just gave it away.....She will forever be missed.


My GodMother was one of the best that ever walked this earth. She had the biggest heart and always made you feel loved!

We were sorry to hear about Nettie's passing. The family can take comfort in knowing hers was a life well lived touching many lives among family, friends and her life long service to her church. We were honored to have her as a dear friend and neighbor. She will be greatly missed.

Heavens gain, sweetest, godly woman I’ve known for years.   I can remember when I was pregnant for my youngest along with several other new moms and the nursery at Calvary was needing an update, I helped in that project with Nettie.

I always enjoyed reading the handwritten letters that Nettie wrote to me. I will keep them close. What a wonderful great-aunt! She will be missed.

I'm very saddened to hear of your beloved Nettie's passing, but I know where she is now and so I am comforted.  Nettie was such a sweet ray of sunshine, love, and encouragement in this dark world.  She was a wonderful witness for Christ.  I'm praying for you.

How do I share a favorite memory of such a precious person when I have SO many! But I guess my favorite was the letters she wrote to me. It was just like being in the room with her. She shared so much of her life and my mother's life, present and past! What a gift that was; I have kept all of them and love re-reading them. I love you Aunt Nettie, Pam

I loved aunt Nettie so much she was a sweetheart 💗she welcome me & my brother Danny & Angela to the family. Steve and Lorena adopted us when I was 5 and Danny was 4 and she welcomed us with open arms .  the last time I seen her was my Grandpa Simeon house for a big cook out. It’s been years since I attended I miss her we would all meet at Grandpa  Sims house and have a big cookout, so much fun. My heart goes out to all the kids I love you and God Bless.

Nettie was joy and kindness.  She surprised me in college with a mailed box of goodies...no one has done that before or since.  She and my Mom, Jeanette, were best friends and followed Jesus with their whole hearts.  Her commitment to serve with Walter and family in church was an example I cherished, since that's what our family chose to do, too.  I will miss my great Aunt, but know I'll see her in heaven someday.
