

Otto William Bacon. The 10 members of the family of Otto Woolworth Bacon and Anna Mary Beemer Bacon have all reunited in heaven with the passing of Otto William Bacon Sr., May 28, 2012, of Morley, MI. Otto was born June 3, 1921 in Saginaw, Michigan. Otto is remembered by his darling wife of 64 years, Betty, sons Otto Jr. (Sandy Spiewak) of Brimley, MI, and Kevin (Tonia) of Bates City, MO, and daughter Linda Gray (Randy) of Byron Center, MI, and his 10 treasured grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Otto was an Elder in the Community of Christ Church (formerly RLDS Church) for many years. He influenced the lives of many young people during his more than 25 year career as a teacher and high school principal. After he retired from Westwood Heights Schools, Flint, Michigan in 1980, he enjoyed quilting, writing poetry, music, reading, traveling, and visiting friends and family throughout the country. Otto was a WWII veteran serving as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. Besides his immediate family, Otto leaves his brothers Harry Bacon of Montrose, MI, Dennis Bacon of Morely, MI, and Charles (Nancy) Bacon of Shawnee, OK, and his sisters Nancy Bacon of Lakeview, MI, and Patricia Bassett (Rick Braidwood) of Saginaw, MI, and his lifelong friends Estella and Gerald Harris of Saginaw, MI. He also leaves several brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Otto's stepmother Irene, 9 brothers, and 6 sisters predeceased him. Visitation with the family will be held from 2 - 4 pm and 6 - 8 pm, Thursday May 31st at Cook Funeral Home, 2067 84th St SW, Byron Center. Memorial service will be held at 2 pm Sunday, June 3rd at Community of Christ Church, 8146 - 68th St., S.E., Alto, Michigan 49302, with Elder Donald Harvey officiating.
