Paul Marvin Moon, age 92, was called home to his Lord peacefully on January 22, 2026. Paul lived a long and meaningful life, cherished for his devotion to family, a sharp wit, and an unwavering passion for football, particularly his beloved Detroit Lions. So deep was his loyalty that he requested to be laid to rest in Lions apparel, a fitting tribute to a lifelong fan. A diligent worker throughout his life, Paul began his career as a toy buyer at CB Meyer and later at C.W. Mills. It was a time fondly remembered by his children during the Christmas season. Before retirement, Paul and his wife, Helen, enjoyed working together on their rental properties and assisting many with their income taxes. Together, they cherished traveling to the Caribbean, relaxing by the pool, enjoying buffets, and sipping a piña colada.
Paul was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who never missed an opportunity to connect with his family. Known for his humor, warmth, and quick memory that remained extraordinary until his passing, family truly meant everything to him. Even as his eyesight faded, he still knew every detail about anyone that he was sharing with. In his later years, Paul became the dedicated caregiver to his loving wife, Helen, continuing to care for her daily, even after they moved into Sunset Manor in Jenison, Michigan.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Helen Alice Moon; children Judy Van Dam, Nancy (Joseph) DeLaCruz, and Chris (Vickie) Moon; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Dorothy Moon; brother, Tom Moon; in-laws Charles and Laura Wilkerson; son, Ken Moon; infant son, Timothy Moon; and son-in-law, Mike Van Dam.
Though Paul is no longer with us physically, he will forever remain in our hearts. The family is confident he is now in Jesus' loving embrace in Heaven, reunited with those who went before him and is finally at peace.
A celebration of Paul's life will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Cook Memorial Chapel, 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, Michigan, with visitation prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. The family welcomes memories and messages at www.cookcaresgrandville.com in their guestbook online.
