Preston Jay Boomstra, age 85, went to be with his Lord Tuesday, June 11, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Grace Boomstra; brother, Gord; sister, Eloise. Pres will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years, Barbara Boomstra; children Pam (Randy) Heethuis, Todd (Andrea) Boomstra, Shawn (Janna) Boomstra; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; brother, Peter Boomstra; sister, Esther Powell.
Preston had a sincere love for God, his family, his country, and teaching. Preston was truly committed in all he did including his 29 years of teaching math and science at Fremont Christian School. After retirement, Pres enjoyed volunteering, camping with friends, and gardening. His special joy was found in watching his children and grandchildren follow the Lord.
Visitation with Preston’s family and friends will be held from 3-4 p.m. Sunday, June 16, 2024, with a memorial service following at 4 p.m., at Alive Ministries, 263 Church St., Jenison, Michigan.
