Renate ”Roni” Loughner, age 84, went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, June 17, 2025. Renate was born October 27, 1940 in Ratibor, Germany. Renate spent much of her life raising her children and working as a food services attendant. Renate was deeply devoted to her faith, carrying her passion and dedication everywhere she went. She loved activities like cooking and card games, and especially loved spending time with family and the furbabies.
She was preceded in death by parents Albert and Paula, Otto Weber; son, Edward Jr.; granddaughter, Misty; and sister, Doris. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 66 years, Edward Loughner; children Ron (Cheryl), Valerie (Mark), Richard; and daughter-in-law, Lori; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A celebration of Renate’s life will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2025 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418. In memory of Renate and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Tree of Life Foundation, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and Shriners Children's Hospital.
