Richard Jack Bultema

“Rick” Bultema, age 67, of Hudsonville, Michigan, passed away Saturday evening, August 10, 2019, after 2 strokes and a 2-year journey with cancer, which he traveled with grace and optimism with his wife Shirley beside him. When there were no more treatment options, he looked forward to heaven.

Rick is survived by his wife, Shirley; their 4 sons and families: Brandon and Maggie Phillips, Anderson, Preston, Finley; Ryan and Robin Phillips, Lauren, Whitney, Jude; Derrick and Jessica Bultema, Jackson, Payton, Violet; Sgt. Jordan Bultema. Also survived by his siblings: Larry (Nancy) Bultema, Peg (Dale) Stalsonburg, and Tyler (Michelle) Bultema; father-in-law Mark Aukeman; and sisters-in-law Carol (Rich) Rienstra, Gloria Aukeman, and Nancy Aukeman; and cousin/friend, Craig VanderHoff.

Visitation for Rick will be from 4 - 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Rush Creek Bible Church, 2334 - 76th Street, SW, Byron Center. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, August 16, at the church, with visitation one hour prior to service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the “Rick Bultema Memorial Fund” at Chemical Bank. These funds will be used for the flags and upkeep of the Military Memorial Garden at Rush Creek Bible Church, for his grandchildren to attend Grace Adventures’ summer camps, and for medical expenses.
