Robert John Hirssig, age 87, went to be with his Lord on Monday, June 28, 2021. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Violet Hirssig and his brother, James Hirssig. He will be remembered by his children Dawn (Gideon) Goldstein, Julie (Mitch) Sanders, and Kristin (Nick) Movesian; grandchildren Michael, Rachel, Daniel, Emily, Stephen, Grace, Benjamin, and Levi ; nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Bob was a very loving man who loved his family and serving the Lord. He went on countless mission trips to Nicaragua, taught Sunday school, and was an usher for his church. He was involved with Bible studies and tutored kids struggling in school. He led the “Single Point Ministry” for many years. In his senior years, he spent countless hours volunteering at a local nursing home, and was awarded “Volunteer of the Year” for the state of Michigan in 2012. A diehard University of Michigan fan, Bob had season tickets to football and basketball games for several years. He was top salesman at Owens Illinois where he worked for 40 years. Bob’s bubbly personality was infectious; everywhere he went, whether it was Meijer, Costco, or Culvers, he knew so many who loved him. Bob’s faith and love for the Lord was an inspiration to many. He fiercely loved his daughters and grandchildren, and was a very generous man. He will be missed by many. As he always said, "I will see you when I see you."
